Project Description:
The River dolphins called are “sisur” in Assam. Once found extensively in the Brahmaputra river it is facing extinction threats. The “sisur”, considered lucky for the person who sites it, is very less numbered today this being due to threat from pollution, population, and fishermen.
The project aimed to make others know about river Brahmaputra, a sacred river in North-East part of India and also the threat to the River Dolphins. The methodology is based on the study of history of river and it’s contemporary relation to the people of the region and country.

Design Process and Solution:
The process started with understanding the significance that the river had with the local people. A historical and cultural perspective helped in understanding different facts about the river. This study was followed by location study. The locations were chosen to highlight the lifestyle of the people living along the banks of the river, as well as to show the might of the river.

I came up with a small 6 minute awareness movie titled “…in search of a dolphin.”
It served the need to spread awareness, to save the river dolphins. The short 5 minute documentary was well appreciated and showed across the university campus.
