Project Description:
As obtained from user studies amongst students at a local school we found that the children consider History a boring subject and do not like to study as compared to others. However we were surprised at the eagerness of the children to listen to stories. This gave us an idea to try this method of teaching the children history through small stories.
Design Process and Solution:
To illustrate this example we took the story of Alexander the Great, and depicted his life story through paper cut animations. The illustrations styles were done in color pencils.
The characters were cut out from paper and placed on the backgrounds. This was then
photographed, and added on Adobe Premiere, where along with added music and other voice-overs we were able to come up with a small five minute video clip.
The idea is to have CD-ROMS that can use these forms of animations to create stories
for similar interesting stories.
