Project Brief:
The Assam State Museum, faces a problem. On interacting with the visitors it was found that they are not very happy with the experience of visiting this museum. The job is to design a solution for this problem.

Design Process:
The work started with field visit to the Assam state Museum. This was then followed with interviews and surveys with the visitors to the museum. A contextual inquiry was also performed with the museum curators, the officials at the musem and the visitors to the museum. These findings were then analysed and the Scenarios were developed. Personas were then created based on the scenarios created. Based on this the tasks were defined and a task analysis was done. Based on this then the interaction model was made.

Design Solution:

The concept was to incorporate Experience design, in order to make an interactive device that will make the whole experience of navigating through a museum more pleasurable and memorable. One of the findings from the survey was the lack of more information on the exhibits and the inability to view the exhibits in a 3D space. Thus, the concept focused on providing a solution to these two findings mainly.

The interface shown here is for software that will help the visitors in a Museum to make their visit more memorable. This includes providing the user the freedom to do things like magnify the images and rotate them in order to know more about the particular exhibit. This software is proposed to be installed on such devices called Museum Navigator. The User centered Design Process was followed here.
The final concept was executed on Flash.
